With her timely, relevant and request-driven daily feature Radio Free Lunch , Mara uses quirky musical topics to engage listeners.
On and off the air, Mara supports numerous charitable organizations including The Atlanta Community Food Bank. She also bends over backward to support pet rescue organizations like PALS (Pets Are Loving Support).
Mara was voted Creative Loafing's “Best Radio DJ" in 2000 and 2001. She also was honored as “Woman of the Month" by Atlanta Woman Magazine in 2004.
Mara lives in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood with: husband Mike, a newsy at CNN who keeps Mara on her “current event toes"; and son Charlie, to whom Mara refers to as “delicious."
